Assessment, review and treatment

The patient will always be assessed by a qualified and registered physiotherapist depending on the service you require. The patient will then be seen by a named qualified physiotherapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and British Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Limb Absence Rehabilitation.

Consultation, review, treatment will often be on a one-to-one basis with the client, unless otherwise agreed (where an additional health care provider may be present), or where they are under the age of 16 and a second adult will be present (most commonly parent or guardian).

The appointments are scheduled according to the needs of the client and the availability of the therapist. The treatments may take place at a location convenient to the client and therapist, this includes but is not limited to the family home, attended school, or sports facility.

The right to decline any proposed treatment is available without prejudice, but this may attract a cost if this occurs outside of cancellation period.

Cancellation Policy

Walk:Enabled requires 24 hours-notice of any cancellation. Clients are given a phone number to make direct cancellation. Although texts and email are acceptable, it is the client’s responsibility to ensure that an acknowledgement of the cancellation has been received.

Cancellations made 24-8 hours before treatment was due will be charged at 50% of treatment fee ONLY (i.e., no travel costs). For cancellations requested 8 hours or closer to the scheduled appointment time, 100% of treatment fee will be charged.

Where travel has already occurred prior to cancellation these travel costs will still be invoiced.

Fees

• Physiotherapeutic treatment: £110 per 1 hour session, £55 for every subsequent 30 minute or part thereof treatment time

• Written reports: £55 per half hour or part thereof:

  a) Initial Needs Assessment Reports estimated at 3 hrs

  b) Short update reports estimated at 1 hr

  c) Medical letters estimated at 30 mins

• Other treatment related services charged at £55 per half hour or part thereof, including but not limited to; reading background medical information, consultation discussions with other clinicians, MDT meetings

• Travel costs: £20 per hour of travel and ticket price for public transport or mileage of 0.45 per mile

• Telephone conversations are not charged unless they become frequent and/or substantial.

• Equipment is not charged unless bought specifically for the client to keep,

All costs for private patients will be agreed with the patient prior to delivery of service.

Consent

Clients are required to consent to assessment and treatment. Additional permission will be required for recording and for the circulation of reports to other relevant professionals.

There is expected to be a mutual level of respectful treatment, any abusive behaviour towards the therapist will not be tolerated.

Due to nature of the work patients may be asked to be partially undressed during treatment and/or the therapist will make physical contact with the patient. Where the patient is not comfortable with the request to remove clothing or physical contact they have the right to voice this concern and the therapist must adjust the therapy to accommodate these needs.
